Welcome to Wellness Through Art ONLINE, where we welcome EVERYONE as an artist! The intention of this event is to simply create space for people to make art together. We will begin each session by sharing a different mindfulness technique or thought provoking activity for contemplation or inspiration. We will then open up the space for participants to be creative and make whatever art is calling to them in the moment. Any simple art supplies you have around home will do. Whether that's simply a paper and pencil, or any other materials you might have on hand. Suggested supplies include, but are not limited to:

• Drawing: Pencils (graphite/colored), Charcoal, Pastels, Markers, Ink Pens.
• Painting:  Acrylics, watercolors, oil paints, paintbrushes.
• Mixed Media: Collage materials (magazines, newspapers, tissue paper), clay, Fabric, buttons, beads, shells.
• Crafting: Scissors, glue, embroidery thread, beading wire, ribbon and lace, decorative papers.
• Surface options: Sketchbooks, canvas, watercolor paper, wooden panels, paper.
• Additional Tools: Rulers, erasers, sharpeners, palette for mixing colors

Join CMHA Recovery College Camrose in partnership with Camrose Public Library for a FREE Drumming Circle. This is an improvisational style of drumming circle where we will come together in community to explore and express our rhythmical spirit! No experience or musical ability is required! Open to everyone ages 16+  Instruments are provided, but feel free to bring your own.  Studies have shown that drumming can enhance your health and wellness in a variety of ways! Benefits to drumming include:

We will provide some basic art supplies, but you are also welcome to bring your own supplies or art projects from home and work on them here. This is a judgment free zone and we are all here to feel good through creating art and connecting with one another:)  

Are you looking for a way to help process your thoughts, manifest your goals or just get some stress relief? Journaling can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, improve sleep and bring us a greater sense of focus and clarity. Writing is even shown to help us heal from trauma. Pull out your journal or a pen and paper and join us virtually for this facilitated ONLINE journaling circle via Zoom. We will write, create and learn about ourselves. No journaling experience necessary, but writers of all varieties are more than welcome. This space is focused on mutual support, personal empowerment, validation and self-awareness.  Sharing is entirely optional. Explore different journaling prompts & creative exercises aimed towards wellness & self-discovery.

This event is designed to help you meet fellow community members and cultivate healthy and supportive relationships. By nurturing meaningful friendships, we not only uplift ourselves but also contribute to a thriving community where everyone can flourish. During the speed friending session, you'll have the opportunity to participate in brief, timed conversations with a variety of participants, making it a lively and engaging way to connect. Whether you're looking to meet new friends, share your stories or simply enjoy some company, we hope this event will be a valuable opportunity to build positive relationships. We can't wait to see you there! This event is open to everyone AGES 18+ Drop ins welcome, but space is limited so please register to secure your spot! Light refreshments will be provided.
