Are you a woman seeking self-discovery? Are you searching for ways to build hope, belonging and connection? Introducing CMHA Recovery College Camrose’s Monthly Women’s Self-Discovery Circle! Join us as we gather together in a safe and supportive environment to explore various topics and practices aimed at enriching one’s sense of inner balance and well-being. In each session, we will have engaging conversations and activities focusing on mindfulness, self-care techniques and coping strategies that can support you through life’s ups and downs.

Join us for an exciting Community Speed Friending Event @ Camrose Public Library! We're thrilled to present this FREE opportunity to forge new connections in a welcoming and laid back atmosphere. This event is designed to help you meet fellow community members and cultivate healthy and supportive relationships. Strong relationships are so important to our mental well-being, providing support and fostering a sense of connection and belonging. By nurturing meaningful friendships, we not only uplift ourselves but also contribute to a thriving community where everyone can flourish. During the speed friending session, you'll have the opportunity to participate in brief, timed conversations with a variety of participants, making it a lively and engaging way to connect. Whether you're looking to meet new friends, share your stories or simply enjoy some company, we hope this event will be a valuable opportunity to build positive relationships. We can't wait to see you there! This event is open to everyone AGES 18+ Drop ins welcome, but space is limited so please register to secure your spot! Light refreshments will be provided.

Are you looking for a way to help process your thoughts, manifest your goals or just get some stress relief? Journaling can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, improve sleep and bring us a greater sense of focus and clarity. Writing is even shown to help us heal from trauma. Bring your own journal and join us for this facilitated journaling circle where we will write, create and learn about ourselves. (If you do not have a journal, we are happy to provide one for you!) No journaling experience necessary, but writers of all varieties are more than welcome. This space is focused on mutual support, personal empowerment, validation and self-awareness.  Sharing is entirely optional. Explore different journaling prompts & creative exercises aimed towards wellness & self-discovery.  

Welcome to CMHA's Wellness Through Art where we welcome EVERYONE as an artist! The intention of this event is to simply create space for people to make art together. Each month we will start out with sharing a different mindfulness technique or thought-provoking activity for contemplation or inspiration. We will then open up the space for participants to be creative and make whatever art is calling to them in the moment. We will provide some basic art supplies, but you are also welcome to bring your own supplies or art projects from home and work on them here. YOU CAN'T DO ART WRONG! This is a judgment free zone and we are all here to feel good through creating art and connecting with one another:)  

Practicing empathy helps us regulate our emotions, connect with others and feel less isolated. Join us for this FREE single session ONLINE course via zoom where we consider ways empathy can help us build healthy connections with others and improve the way we communicate. We will also explore how empathy can help us manage our feelings and cultivate wellness and gratitude in our lives.

CMHA in Alberta, in partnership with the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Children’s Services, has developed a peer-to-peer family support program. Caregiver Connections provides peer support for parents and caregivers of individuals with mental health concerns. With the support of trained peers with lived experience, parents and caregivers will learn how to best take care of themselves, ask for help when necessary and learn about the importance of boundaries. It is a safe place to gather together for shared stories, education, resources and support.

Join CMHA Recovery College Camrose in partnership with Camrose Public Library for a FREE Drumming Circle. This is an improvisational style of drumming circle where we will come together in community to explore and express our rhythmical spirit! No experience or musical ability is required! Open to everyone ages 16+  Instruments are provided, but feel free to bring your own.  Studies have shown that drumming can enhance your health and wellness in a variety of ways! Benefits to drumming include:

Mindfulness can be described as a state of awareness that allows us to be fully present in the moment.   Mindfulness is a practice that can support us to calmly acknowledge and accept our feelings, and thoughts without judgement. Practicing mindfulness often results in increased gratitude which contributes to feelings of happiness and improvements in one's mental wellbeing.   Join us for this single session engaging and interactive ONLINE conversation via zoom about mindfulness and gratitude where we will explore ways to incorporate these practices into our everyday lives.
